By making the air between the glass warmer it allows you to run a little more humidity into your home in the winter. Because cooler temperatures hold less humidity before condensation happens, the warmer the glass surface the less the condensation factor.
Did you know the typical 2” x 4” wall has an R-value of between 8 and 10? Did you also know the R-value of triple pane glass is about 8. What that means is the center of the glass has about the same R-value as a 2” x 4” wall with fiberglass insulation.
